What is a Taxi Marshal?

A London Taxi Marshal is a Licensed London Taxi driver who is especially skilled at managing large groups of people who require taxis after an event.

Why would I need a Taxi Marshal for my event?

You want to look after your guests even after they leave your event venue. Don’t spoil your perfect event by letting your honoured guests struggle to find safe transportation. Our Taxi Marshal Service can help get your guests home safely and efficiently.

How do I know if a Taxi Marshal service is right for my event?

It largely depends on the location of your venue and the number of guests. Just give us a call on +44 (0)20 3984 4515 or +44 (0)20 3004 4953, and we will be delighted to discuss your needs and give you our honest assessment as to whether our Taxi Marshal service will be of benefit.

What will your company and the Taxi Marshals do?

Ahead of the event, we publicise your event to all of our drivers, as well as to all other major London Black Taxi circuits. We have a vast Twitter network of London taxi drivers, and we publicise your event via that network.

During the event, at least one Taxi Marshal will position himself on the nearest main road and flag down any passing taxis and direct them to your venue.

At least one other Taxi Marshal will then organise your guests into the waiting taxis. If guests wish to share a taxi, the Taxi Share Scheme enables the Marshals to place up to 5 or 6 passengers in the same taxi, thus reducing waiting times and allowing the guests to share the fare.

Your guests will pay for their taxi fares by paying the drivers directly, by cash or card. Our fees do not include the cost of the actual taxi fare.

How can I keep in contact with my Marshals during the event?

Before your event date, we will supply you with the names and mobile phone numbers of your Marshals. We will also supply them with your contact phone number. Before and during the event, you can keep in contact with them, if need be.

Will disabled guests be provided for?

All Licensed London Black Taxis have wheelchair facilities.   Our Taxi Marshals will give any extra assistance needed.

How many Taxi Marshals will I need?

We can help you decide how many Marshals you will need. It can depend on your venue’s location. But here is a rough guide:

Up to 300 guests – 2 Marshals
300 – 600 guests – 3 Marshals
600 – 1,000 guests – 4 Marshals

Are the Taxi Marshals licensed London taxi drivers?

Yes. Our Taxi Marshals are licensed London taxi drivers who have completed “the knowledge” and are fully vetted with enhanced DBS checks.

What is the cost?

£160 per Marshal, per hour
Minimum booking of 2 Marshals for 2 hours
No administration fees, credit card fees, or taxes will be added to the price

How do I pay?

We accept all major credit/debit cards, including American Express.

To confirm your booking, we will ask you to pay a £5 non-refundable deposit by debit/credit card.

30 days before the event (or upon confirmation of the booking if booking within 30 days of the event) the balance due will be automatically charged to your debit/credit card (same card used for the deposit or card provided on booking). No refunds are made after this time.

We do not take cash or any other form of payment. A receipt will be sent to you by email.

Any extra time will be billed by the 1/2 hour, and the charges will be applied to your debit/credit card after the event.
